The Celtics (26-23) crushed the Lakers (23-27) Thursday night at TD Garden, 116-95, to win their sixth straight game all while sending rival LA into another tailspin.
Boston already had a solid cushion at halftime but its 37-point offensive outburst in the third quarter, highlighted by an end-to-end sequence which featured a Jeff Green dunk, a Green block and a Paul Pierce 3-pointer, proved to be more than enough for the win.
Pierce led the Celtics with 24 points and Jason Terry had 15 off the bench.
What they’ll be saying: This whole “they’re better without Rondo” thing will be a white hot topic in the city after this thorough beatdown. The one note of caution – the Lakers (23-27) are inching closer and closer to irrelevancy. So, how good of a win was it?
