Celtics head coach Doc Rivers will discuss his future with the organization Wednesday in Boston with C’s president Danny Ainge, according to Yahoo.
A blockbuster deal that would have sent Rivers and Kevin Garnett to Los Angeles was nearly completed on several occasions Monday but fell through Tuesday after the Clippers did not want to give up two first round picks.
Rivers is said to be “unsure,” according to Yahoo, about returning to the Celtics after the deal was so close to going down.
The Clippers, meanwhile, are moving forward in their coaching search, as they have reportedly already talked with coaches Byron Scott, Brian Shaw and Lionel Hollins. As far as talks between the C’s and Clips regarding any Rivers trade resuming, an LA source told ESPN’s Chris Broussard: “Never say anything is completely dead in the NBA.”
