Celtics defeat Magic, earn second straight win

After picking up their first win of the season Wednesday night against the Jazz at home, the Celtics continued their momentum by picking up their first road win of the young season with a 91-89 win over the Magic in Orlando Friday night. The win snapped a three-game winning streak for the Magic.

Following a big Kelly Olynyk jumper with 1:19 left, the Celtics had a four-point lead and were able to hold off a late Magic surge to give head coach Brad Stevens his first road win in the NBA. Brandon Bass and Avery Bradley led the way for the Celtics as they had 16 and 14 points respectively. They also both got it done on the glass as Bass corralled seven rebounds while Bradley added eight. Courtney Lee and Jordan Crawford both had solid games as well, finishing with 13 points apiece.

Aaron Afflalo led the Magic with a game-high 23 points in the loss.

The Celtics will be right back at it Saturday night (7:30, CSNNE) where they continue their two-day Florida swing by taking on the Heat in Miami.

What they'll be saying: It was a balanced offensive attack once again for the Celtics as they had six players finish in double figures, including four of the five starters. As was the case in Wednesday's win, their defense played a major role as they forced 20 Orlando turnovers and did a good job of taking care of the ball on their end, finishing with just 11. The Celtics were able to pull out a victory despite shooting 36 percent from the field and just 14 percent from three-point range.
