Celtics looking to bring back Jeff Green

Celtics President of Basketball Operations Danny Ainge addressed the Celtics ability to re-sign free agent forward Jeff Green Monday.

“Nothing is done but we intend to have Jeff back,” Ainge said at an introductory press conference for draft picks Jared Sullinger, Fab Melo and Kris Joseph.

Green’s scoring presence was missed by the Celtics last season as the forward has averaged 13.9 points per game in his NBA career thus far. Green has resumed playing five-on-five basketball after being diagnosed with a heart condition just prior to the start of the 2011-12 season.

According to the Boston Herald, Green’s agent maintains that the small forward out of Georgetown is a $9 million player. That was the figure Green had with the Celtics prior to the discovery of his heart condition. That contract was voided.
