Celtics losing streak reaches nine games with loss to Rockets

With the Celtics returning home from their West Coast trip one might have thought that could've helped end their losing streak, but that wasn't the case as the C's lost their ninth straight game with a 104-92 loss to the Rockets Monday night at TD Garden. They fall to 13-26 on the year and 8-11 at home.

The C's led 27-19 after one, but were outscored by 17 points in the second, which allowed the Rockets to pull away early on. Boston was led by Avery Bradley's 24 points followed by Brandon Bass' 14 off the bench. Making his home debut, Jerryd Bayless made a strong first impression, recording 17 points in the loss.

Houston was led by Dwight Howard who had a game-high 32 points along with 11 rebounds.

The C's will be back in action Wednesday (7:30 p.m., CSNNE) when they welcome the Pistons to town.

What they'll be saying: Although the Celtics have been struggling on the court, they may get a huge boost as early as this Friday as point guard Rajon Rondo is reportedly planning on making his season debut against the Lakers. The C's could use any little bit of help they can get at this point as they are losers in 12 of their last 13 games. The one positive during this span is their willingness to battle night in and night out, which is a major credit to head coach Brad Stevens.
