Celtics suffer brutal loss to Bobcats

Gerald Henderson and the Bobcats upset the C's for the second time in five weeks Tuesday. Gerald Henderson and the Bobcats upset the C’s for the second time in five weeks Tuesday.

The Celtics (34-29) fell to lowly Charlotte (14-50) for the second time this season as the Bobcats’ Gerald Henderson posted a career-high 35 points Tuesday night at Time Warner Cable Arena.

Boston head coach Doc Rivers gave captain Paul Pierce the night off and it showed as the Bobcats held the C’s to just 28 second half points.

Jeff Green, who started in place of Pierce, had 14 points for the Green. Jordan Crawford also netted 14.

It’s the second time in nearly a month that the C’s have lost to Charlotte. It was easy to say before this game that the C’s relied too heavily on Pierce and now there’s concrete proof.
