New York Jets left tackle D'Brickashaw Ferguson is retiring from the NFL, ESPN.com reported.

The report cites multiple sources who said Ferguson, 32, decided to retire because he felt he could no longer perform at his normal standard of excellence.

"He just felt it was time," one source told the site.

His departure reportedly frees up $9 million in cap room.
