For the first time this season the Philadelphia Union have won back-to-back games.

Last weekend, the Union took it to the New York Red Bulls by a score of 2-0, behind goals byVincent Nogueira and C.J. Sapong.

Back on May 17, the Union upset the first-place DC United 1-0 in front of a packed PPL Park. The win was the first against United since Aug. 10, 2013.

The Union take on United again this Saturday, May 30, at RFK stadium. The matchup marks the two team’s second meeting of the season.

United is coming off a 1-1 draw against the New England Revolution last week, with the lone goal coming from Jairo Arrieta, his third of the season.

The Union keep squeaking up the standings, only a point behind Toronto FC and Orlando SC for fifth and sixth placesrespectively.

Jim Curtin’s squad has the chance to join the likes of United in the top six clubs in the East which in the end would qualify them for a playoff spot.

The season is five months away from being over, however staying hot and bringing back key players such as Brian Sylvestre, who is currently with the Carolina RailHawks in the US open cup, could be what this team needs after a slow start.

The sky is the limit for the union and a real test comes to them this weekend down in the nation’s capital.
