Eagles notebook: Mike Vick ‘keeping it real’

Few notes as we get set for Sunday’s Eagles-Redskins game …

Mike Vick was standing at his locker stall saying “enough is enough” over and over again Friday afternoon at the NovaCare Complex. The QB chatted and joked with reporters and maintained that things were going to turn around.

“This isn’t fun. We got to get back to playing good football,” Vick said.

Vick, unlike his predecessor Donovan McNabb, was open and honest in an informal (also impromptu) session with the media. “What did I tell you guys? I keep it real,” Vick said.

BIRDS INJURIES … King Dunlap didn’t practice Friday, but is listed as questionable on the injury report. If he can’t go, Todd Herremans is expected to shift to left tackle, with Winston Justice starting at right tackle. Jason Peters (hamstring) is out. Trent Cole (calf) is out.

FIGHT NIGHT … There was a near-fight at Friday’s practice between a reporter and an Eagles player. We’ll protect the names of the innocents here, but one Eagle whispered to another Eagle about a nearby reporter writing a negative story about him. Words were exchanged and one player actually brushed up on the reporter, but that was the extent of the “almost-altercation.”

SKINS INJURIES … Cornerback D’Angelo Hall is questionable and was limited in practice with Washington. RB Tim Hightower, TE Chris Cooley, WR Anthony Armstrong, CB Phillip Buchanon are also questionable.

LOOSE LIPS … Personal aside, the Eagles’ locker room looked about as loose as it has been in recent weeks. Asante Samuel was yelling, “Keep it positive, media. No negative stories this week.”

LINE: Eagles -2

O/U: 47

TV: Fox, Sunday, 1 p.m.

PREDICTION: Eagles 21, Redskins 17. I could lie and give you some fake analysis about why I’m giving this train-wreck-of-a-team the benefit of the doubt right now, but I can’t. I just have a hunch. Mike Vick puts on the Superman cape and saves the season.
