Game on for Red Sox in Fort Myers

They won once. They won again.  And with that, the Red Sox’s 2011 campaign was on. Sort of.

They won once. They won again.

And with that, the Red Sox’s 2011 campaign was on.

Sort of.

The Sox opened exhibition play with a pair of victories over college foes — 6-0 vs. Boston College, 13-2 vs. Northeastern — Saturday. They kicked off Grapefruit League action last night against the Twins.

“Today’s actually a really fun day all the way around,” manager Terry Francona said after Kevin Youkilis led Boston past BC in the spring opener. “It ends up being a good day of baseball.”

There’s going to be plenty more of those, to be sure.

The Sox host the Twins today (1:05 p.m.), then visit their crosstown spring home tomorrow. Then Atlanta (Wednesday) and Philly (Thursday) come to Fort Myers.
