HEA separation for Terriers?

This weekend’s Hockey East men’s slate offers a golden opportunity for Boston University and Boston College to further stake their claim to the top of the conference.

The Terriers — unbeaten and ranked first in the USCHO Top 20 — have a home-and-home set with Merrimack.

The Warriors (2-2-2 overall, 1-2-1?HEA) received votes in the USCHO poll, but have given up more goals in league play (nine) than they’ve scored (eight).

No. 7 BC, meanwhile, has lost two of its last three HEA outings. But there’s a decent chance the Eagles can pull a weekend sweep at moribund Vermont (0-3-3 overall).

Northeastern is also headed up north. The Huskies (1-5-2, 1-2-1) will play two at No. 5 Maine
(4-1-3, 2-0-1).

Outside HEA, Harvard has a pair of road games this weekend.
