After just one season in Black and Gold, Jarome Iginla is leaving Boston.
The 37-year-old right wing agreed to a three-year, $16 million deal with the Colorado Avalanche Tuesday as the Bruins did not have enough money available under the salary cap. The loss of Iginla is monumental for the Bruins considering he tied for the team lead in goals in 2013-14 with 30.
The veteran had hinted earlier this year that he wanted to return to Boston but the B’s were simply unable to cough up enough cash.
