Jeff Green, Rajon Rondo lead Celtics past 76ers

Exactly a week after the 76ers beat the Celtics at the buzzer at TD Garden, the C's got their revenge with a 114-108 win over the 76ers in Philadelphia Wednesday night. Boston led, 34-23, after the first quarter and were able to hold off multiple 76ers runs to come away with the win.

Rajon Rondo began to look like the Rondo of old as he posted eight points, 11 assists and nine rebounds in 32 minutes of action. Jeff Green had a monster game, finishing with 36 points and eight rebounds, while Jared Sullinger had his third straight double-double, finishing with 19 points and 10 rebounds.

Philadelphia was led by Thaddeus Young who had 20 points in the loss.

The C's will be back in action Friday night (7:30, CSNNE) at home against the Kings.

What they'll be saying: A major reason for the win was the Celtics' 3-point shooting as they shot 42 percent (8-for-19) from behind the line. Rondo seemed to be his old self for most of the game as the offense had a lot more flow when he was on the floor, which was a major reason why he was a team-leading plus-16 for the game. The C's will have a good chance for their third straight win Friday as the Kings are currently 16-32 on the year.
