Bruins owner Jeremy Jacobs is not allowed to own an NFL team as according to NFL rules an owner can’t own pro teams in different cities. But Jacobs may find a way to circumvent those rules due to the fact that his sons would be heading up any group.
The Buffalo News reports that Jacobs and his six children “lead a list of potential suitors” to buy the NFL’s Buffalo Bills.
The Jacobs family’s concession company, Deleware North, is based in Buffalo and Jacobs is a Buffalo native. The feeling in Buffalo is that Jacobs would keep the Bills in Buffalo, instead of moving the team to Los Angeles or Toronto.
“I am even more optimistic this week than I was last week that we can keep the Bills in Buffalo,” New York Sen. Charles Schumer told The Buffalo News.
