An offseason of under-the-radar moves continued on Saturday as the Jets re-signed kicker Nick Folk to a contract, bringing back a steady piece of their special teams unit.

Finally free of injury, 2012 was Folk’s third year in New York and was arguably his best with the team. His 26 field goals last year was the highest during his time with the Jets. His numbers could have been even better, but he was blocked three times, all on plays where the offensive line blew an assignment.

Team sources tell Metro that Folk’s deal is for one year.

The Jets also delved into the free-agent market, adding a versatile player in former Steelers guard Willie Colon. A former fourth-round pick in 2006, Colon spent his entire career in Pittsburgh and made 62 starts, although he missed the entire 2010 season with an Achilles injury.

Colon is a native of the Bronx and played his college football at Hofstra.

On the other side of the line, the Jets added massive nose tackle Antonio Garay. The Ramsey, N.J. native comes to the Jets via the Chargers and adds depth to a defensive line that lost defensive end Mike DeVito to free agency and recently cut tackle Sione Pouha.
