Temple’s head football coach talks about why so many Owls make it in the NFL, putting the team on the map in Philadelphia, and having a bounce back season in 2014.
It sounds like you had a very productive signing day. How are you feeling looking over your incoming freshman class?
I think it’s a really pivotal class for us because it’s the first we have had as a staff all together in this new conference. I think we have elevated our level of who we’re recruiting. We were able to go to nine states, three different time zones and get a lot of kids who had opportunities to play elsewhere. And those 25 kids chose Temple.
Campbell. Bernard Pierce called me the other day, he’s in the area, he just had rotator cuff surgery. This is a place where, because of where we’re located and how much those former players love Temple, all of our alums, especially those in the NFL like to come back here and they think it’s a great place. It got them ready to compete at the next level.
