Mets start off on the Wright foot

1 No early knockout — The Mets had the bases loaded with no outs and Josh Johnson on the ropes in the fourth inning. Instead of extending a 2-0 lead, Johan Santana popped out, then Hanley Ramirez made a diving stab and turned two off the bat of Alex Cora.

2 Boo birds — The crowd of 41,245 was still ticked about 2009 during pregame introductions. Oliver Perez, the training staff and Jerry Manuel were all victims of wicked boos.

3 It’s official — The Mets placed Jose Reyes and Daniel Murphy on the 15-day DL before the game.
