The Patriots used their NFL-high four Day 2 draft picks to primarily build up their often suspect defense as they drafted Southern Mississippi outside linebacker Jamie Collins (52nd overall), Rutgers cornerback Logan Ryan (83rd overall) and Rutgers safety Duron Harmon (91st overall).
New England also grabbed a wide receiver, which was perceived as a need heading into the weekend considering the departure of Wes Welker to Denver, selecting Marshall’s Aaron Dobson (59th overall).
