Patrice Bergeron did not play for the Bruins in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference finals last night at the Garden.
Bergeron, the team’s leading scorer so far in the postseason, suffered a mild concussion in the Eastern Conference semifinals against the Flyers. He’s reportedly made strides in his recovery — practicing with the team all week — but has not appeared in a game since being hit by Claude Giroux.
He took part in Boston’s optional morning skate yesterday.
Bergeron has two goals, 10 assists and a plus-7 rating through 11 games this postseason. His much-anticipated return — which could happen tomorrow night in Game 3 — would provide a spark to a Boston team that came out flat in Game 1.
The Lightning scored in the opening and closing seconds of the first period yesterday, taking a 2-1 lead.
