What have you done, David!?
Mets third baseman David Wright is reportedly engaged to girlfriend Molly Beers. (Yes, her last name is really “Beers.” You’re not hungover and hallucinating that.)
We’re happy for David and all, but have you learned nothing from your crosstown counterpart Derek Jeter? You don’t get married at 30 years old. You play in New York. You just signed an eight-year, $138 million contract extension. Do you not understand the term “play the field?” You literally play the field, David!
The two have apparently been together for quite awhile. The photo above is from an event in 2008. Frankly, I wasn’t really sure if he was dating anyone, so good job on keeping this under-the-radar.
And because it’s important to prove that girlfriends now actually exist, we shall present this photo courtesy of Jamie Koslow Photography as evidence:
Yep, she looks pretty real. (And at least we have photos of the two together, in the same place, touching each other, and apparently not as a cardboard cutout.)
OK, fine, we relent. Good job David. Nothing wrong with locking her up.
