Predicting Tiger’s season

While it’s unlikely anyone can confidently predict just how well Tiger Woods will play in his first tournament of 2011, it’s quite easy to take a guess at how he’ll feel today on the tee at Torrey Pines.

“Healthy … for once,”?Woods said yesterday on the eve of the Farmers Insurance Open.

Woods has been hampered both physically and mentally each of the last three years, but he enters this season with a clear head and a new swing coach in Sean Foley.

Although we haven’t seen him in a tournament in two months, we’ll predict Tiger’s 2011 with some prop bets:

Will?Tiger win the Farmers Insurance Open?

No. The guy hasn’t closed in forever — remember how he blew a four stroke lead last time out?

Will Tiger finish in the top 10?

Yes. Foley likes the consistency of his swing, plus Woods has never finished outside the top 10 in his first tourney of the year.

Will?Tiger win more than four tournaments in 2011?

Yes, and you can mark down two majors, too. The man is motivated like never before.

Will Tiger be No. 1 at the end of the year?

Yes. Just look at his competition. Do Martin Kaymer or Dustin Johnson really scare you?
