Preseason Fallout

Don't worry if you didn't feel like watching the glorified scrimmages that went down on Thursday night. Here is what fantasy owners need to know:

* Tarvaris Jackson is still awful. I'm not really sure why he was tabbed as the starter after being brought over from Minnesota. He's just not good -- I doubt I'll have any Seahawks on any of my teams this yaer.

* Mike Tolbert started over Ryan Mathews. Not a huge surprise here. Mathews has had a poor preseason and shown an inability to stay healthy. I'll probably just let someone roll the dice on both these guys.

*Pats rookie RB Stevan Ridley was the star, rushing for 64 yards and two touchdowns to go with seven catches and another score. Let's not overreact here though -- Ridley is part of a committee backfield and the starters didn't play tonight.

* Dennis Pitta had a nice game with Ed Dickson (hamstring) sidelined. I'd expect these two split snaps this year.

* Vincent Jackson caught a bomb from Philip Rivers. Dude is going to have a MONSTER year.

* Knowshon Moreno and Willis McGahee rotated heavily during the first series. Expect that to continue into the season with ex-Panthers coach John Fox at the controls.

* Michael Vick picked up right where he left off. One series, 74 passing yards, a touchdown. Best fantasy season ever may be coming.
