In what is sure to be the most emotionally charged morning Patriots Day baseball game in Boston since they began the tradition in 1968, the Red Sox will host the Baltimore Orioles to wrap up their four-game set at 11 a.m. (NESN).
Baltimore’s Wei-Yin Chen (2-1, 4.76 ERA) will square off against Boston’s Clay Buchholz (0-1, 5.51 ERA) on the mound. It’s a big week for the sub-.500 Sox as they will host the Yankees for three games beginning Tuesday.
Of note for Monday, Red Sox are 68-50 on Patriots Day all-time.
The Sox haven’t played the O’s on Patriots Day since 2009, a 12-1 victory, in which Dustin Pedroia, David Ortiz and Mike Lowell had multiple RBIs.
