Red Sox down Jays, win 4th in a row

The Red Sox won their fourth game in a row and took a 3.5 game lead in the AL East Friday night as they beat the Blue Jays at Fenway Park, 7-5.

Koji Uehara picked up his fourth save of the year and Jonny Gomes proved to be the offensive hero for Boston as his seventh inning single drove in Shane Victorino to break a 5-5 tie. Jarrod Saltalamacchia drove in the Sox' seventh run via a bases loaded walk.

What they'll be saying: The streaking Red Sox are showing no signs of slowing down as they've reached the mid-point of their 2013 season. After one of the busiest news weeks in the history of Boston sports, attention is slowly but surely turning to the most positive story in town - the 2013 Sox.

The fact that they're getting contributions from role players like Uehara (who is quickly making his case to become Boston's full-time closer) and Gomes shows that this team can win in a variety of ways.
