The Phillies won't part completely with recently retired and future Hall of Fame pitcher Roy Halladay, as the Phillies have announced both he and former closer Brad Lidge will be instructors in Clearwater during spring training.
Halladay lives near the Phillies' spring training facility in Florida, and he and Lidge will join Larry Andersen, Dave Hollins and Gary Matthews among 26 guests invited to help the team prepare for baseball in March.
Notably absent from the list of 26 is legendary third baseman Mike Schmidt, who has been a guest instructor 11 times.
