The Panthers gained a whole lot of yard but didn’t pick up a whole lot of ground as they continue to trail the Broncos 16-7 after 45 minutes in Super Bowl 50.

Ted GinnJr.gave the Panthers the the spark they needed when the third quarter kicked off, completing a 45-yard catch and run to get Carolina cooking. But the spark didn’t catch as the Panthers settled for a failed field goal attempt when Graham Gano’s 44-yard try his the goal post.

Brandon McManus’ third field goal of the game (lifting him to 10-for-10 in the playoffs) gave the Broncos a little breathing room at 16-7 and T.J. Ward’s interception deep in Panthers territory gave Denver the ball and their third takeaway.

By the time the quarter had subsided, the Broncos had five sacks on one of the most agile quarterbacks in football.

The final 15 minutes to come.
