Timberwolves look at trade for Thaddeus Young to replace Kevin Love

Just about everyone believes Kevin Love will be traded before the end of this NBA offseason. The Timberwolves are now prepping accordingly, according to ESPN.com.

Minnesota has “expressed interest” in Sixers power forward Thaddeus Young as a potential replacement for Love, sources told the website.

The report also said that the Timberwolves are continuing to discuss trade possibilities that would ship Love to the Cavaliers, which would place him alongside LeBron James and instantly make Cleveland the favorite to win the Eastern Conference.

Young posted a career-best 17.9 points per game last season with the Sixers in his seventh season out of Georgia Tech.

The 26-year-old Young is likely deemed somewhat expendable by Sixers management considering he has just two years left on his current deal, Philly isn’t anywhere close to contending for a title in the next two years and head coach Brett Brown is likely to invest playing time to young big men Nerlens Noel and [eventually] Joel Embiid.
