TV picks: Weekend, June 29-July 1

This weekend's TV highlights: "Weeds" lights up for one more season.

"Weeds"

COMEDY. "Messy" is a good title for this eighth and final season opener — the action picks up right after pot-selling mom Nancy was (or wasn't?!) shot by a sniper in last season's cliffhanger.

Season premiere, 10 p.m., Showtime

"Episodes"

COMEDY. More depressing than the critical panning of "Pucks" are the (hilarious) lengths to which screenwriter Beverly and star Matt will go to win back the love of Beverly's husband/writing partner, Sean.

Season premiere, Sunday, 10:30 p.m., Showtime

"Bigfoot"

MOVIE. Child stars of the '70s — Danny Bonaduce ("Partridge Family") and Barry Williams ("Brady Bunch") — battle Sasquatch. Despite what we initially guessed, this Bigfoot isn't the byproduct of a bad trip — just terrible CGI.

Saturday, 9 p.m., Syfy

"My Cat From Hell"

REALITY. Cat owners' issues go beyond the kitty jumping up on everything and breaking lamps and more into "this cat is going to break up our relationship" territory.

Season premiere, Saturday, 8 p.m., Animal Planet
