Tonight's TV highlights: What not to wear this Halloween

‘Happy Endings’

COMEDY. Couples costumes are never a good idea. Particularly when Penny’s date bails and Max steps in to save the day — dressing up as the baby strapped to “momma” Penny in a Baby Bjorn. Scary!

9:30 p.m., ABC

‘Suburgatory’

COMEDY. Halloween is different in the ’burbs, much to the chagrin of urbanites George and Tessa, whose idea of trick-or-treat doesn’t fly with the Botox-ed neighbors — even though they look like they’re wearing plastic masks every day of the year.

8:30 p.m., ABC

Whitechapel

DRAMA. What could be more ghastly this time of year than a serial killer who seems to be replicating the work of Jack the Ripper? This taut murder mystery stars Rupert Penry-Jones and Phil Davis as detectives investigating the horrific crimes plaguing London’s Whitechapel neighborhood.

Series premiere, 10 p.m., BBC America

‘Psych’

COMEDY. Shawn and Gus go vampire hunting. Good thing they’ve got Lost Boy Corey Feldman and Buffy, aka Kristy Swanson, stopping by as guest stars tonight.

10 p.m., USA
