What happened to Stephen Colbert and ‘The Colbert Report?’

Did you all tune in at 11:30 p.m. last night to watch funny man Stephen
Colbert, only to be surprised by a re-run?

Turns out Stephen Colbert suspended the productions of his comedy show
due to an emergency in his family, according to the Wall Street Journal.

It is unknown how long he’ll be out, but productions is expected to
resume soon. Some people familiar with the show are saying it’ll be back
on as soon as next week.

Comedy Central, the network that airs the show, has been mum on what
exactly happened.

Network spokesman Steve Albani said in an email statement, “Due to
unforseen circumstances, the show will air repeat episodes on Wednesday,
February 15 and Thursday, February 16.”

The vagueness of the statement led many to speculate that Comedy Central
had canceled “The Colbert Report.” Rest assured, though, Stephen
Colbert will be back soon with more satire and comedy for our late
nights.

For now, we hope he and his family are all well and we’ll settle with
only having Jon Stewart in our lives.

UPDATE: ‘The Colbert Report’ will resume taping on Monday
