‘Game of Thrones’ installation brings Iron Throne to Boston

Game of Thrones

“Game of Thrones” fans in Boston can finally live out their dreams of being a ruler of the Seven Kingdoms.

Just in time for the new season of HBO’s hit fantasy drama, a life-sized replica of the famed Iron Throne has been set up at the AT&T store on Boylston Street. The shop has been decked out with banners and even an eerie installation of the Night King in honor of the series’ return.

Local fans seem to be pretty pumped about the “Game of Thrones” store takeover.

A time lapse video of the installation by Ardon Visual Communications shows all the hard work that went into constructing this “Game of Thrones” experience, which is expected to hang around town for a few weeks, according to Boston magazine.

Between brunches and bobblehead nights, Boston has gone all out to celebrate the debut of “Game of Thrones” season 7.

Earlier this week, the Red Sox held a special night dedicated to the series at Fenway Park, featuring a bobblehead of left fielder Andrew Benintendi donning the attire of the Night’s Watch Lord Commander. The evening also included appearances by performers who dressed as characters from the show, including Khaleesi, Tyrion Lannister, Cersei Lannister, Jamie Lannister, Peter Baelish, Varys and Septa Mordane.

If all that wasn’t enough, “Game of Thrones” mania peaked in Boston this month when Arya Stark herself, aka actress Maisie Williams, feasted in the North End with a few pals from Netflix’s “Stranger Things.” We guess the HBO stars love the Hub as much as the city loves the show.
