Remember back in 2012 when Will Smith’s daughter, Willow Smith, shaved her head?

In Jay Z’s recently released “Footnotes of Adnis” video on Tidal, the Philly-born celeb joins Chris Rock and others to discuss what they’ve learned from their fathers as well as what their kids have taught them.

Smith brings up that moment he found out about Willow shaving her head.

Only 11-years-old at the time, the singer, actor and dancer was in the middle of her “Whip My Hair” tour and wanted to stop touring but her father pushed her to keep going.

“We came downstairs and she had shaved her head bald,” he recalls. “She shaved her head bald in the middle of her ‘Whip My Hair’ tour. I was like, ‘Oh, s–t.'”

He adds, “I’m looking at that girl and I’m like, ‘Got it. I understand. You will not have this trouble out of me ever again.”

Smith goes on to say that he had to develop parenting techniques that were different from his own father’s.

“For me, it was that soldier that was pushing and wasn’t paying any attention whatsoever to what was going on emotionally with this beautiful little creature in front of me,” Smith says. “That was the first part of the collapsing of my father’s suit that I was wearing that wasn’t mine.”
