Theodore Parker Church, West Roxbury
Formed by, and named after, the transcendentalist minister who was a leader in the abolitionist movement.  The original colonial meetinghouse was badly damaged in an 1890 fire and a new stone building, featuring Tiffany windows, was erected in its place.

Millennium Park, West Roxbury
This beautiful 100-acre public park was formerly a garbage dump!  The dump was closed in 1994 by Mayor Menino and the park became the city’s biggest recycling project, with dirt from the Big Dig used to fill in the site.  Enjoy six miles of trails, an amphitheatre, baseball fields and picnic areas.
VFW Parkway, Gardner Street

Stony Brook Reservation

Over 475 acres of scenic landscapes and recreational facilities make up this Hyde Park reservation.  Hike or bike ten to twelve-mile trails or fish in the fresh waters of Turtle Pond.  Various sporting arenas and fields are also accessible.
Open year-round, from dawn to dusk.
