BOSTON. The Boston Globe has no plans for a staff reduction of the size reported yesterday in Metro, saying they “will make staff reductions in accordance with” operational efficiencies “when and if appropriate,” according to a statement released yesterday.
The Globe did confirm it will raise its single copy price in Greater Boston from 50 cents to 75 cents starting Feb. 4 — not Feb. 1, as reported yesterday in Metro.
Metro Boston Editor Saul Williams stands by the original report, which cited sources inside and outside the Globe.
