This year’s Boston Underground Film Festival kicks off with “The Wizard of Gore” (Thursday, 7:30 p.m.), a remake of the 1970 who-dunnit, this time around starring Crispin Glover as Montag the Magnificent and a stash of bloodied Suicide Girls; the opening night reception follows at Noir. Through the weekend you’ve got “Who is KK Downey?,” a tale loosely based on the JT Leroy fubar, “Altamont Now,” a revolutionary rockumentary, and more serial killers and freaks than Dexter would know what to do with.
