Going from spy to prime minister
In Roman Polanski’s “The Ghost Writer,” in theaters now, Pierce Brosnan plays a British prime minister facing a possible war crimes prosecution. We caught up with the actor about preparing for the part, but couldn’t help asking the former James Bond about his earlier work and upcoming role as Robert Pattinson’s father in “Remember Me,” which opens this weekend.

Don't be just another sucker
Every day consumers are ripped off by elaborate schemes, while others gnash their teeth over risky investments or squabbling with contractors over how their home additions are coming along. Getting tripped up by scams not only makes consumers want to pull their hair out. But it also makes them dread the thought of the next big investment or even a routine bank transaction, so state officials are out to empower the cautious and inform the masses.

Praying for that Big magical run
This year, it’s more about seeds than bubbles. More about who’s where rather than who’s in. More about quality than quantity.

Wizards edge C’s

Wizards 109, Celtics 95

NBA. The Wizards had six players finish in double figures on the way to a 109-95 win over the Celtics last night in Washington.

The Wizards got 27 points and 11 rebounds from Antawn Jamison in the victory, which came on the strength of an excellent third-quarter performance where they outscored Boston 27-18 to break open a tight game.

Paul Pierce had 28 points and seven assists for the Celtics, while Kevin Garnett added 22 points and 14 rebounds for Boston.

The loss snapped a seven-game win streak for the Celtics, who will look to get back on track when they return home to meet the woeful Bucks tomorrow night at the TD Banknorth Garden. Meanwhile, it was the third consecutive victory for the Wizards, who also got 14 points from DeShawn Stevenson.

The Celtics have clinched home-court advantage throughout the duration of the Eastern Conference playoffs. The last few games, Boston spread out the playing time in hopes of getting the starters more rest before the playoffs. Last night was more of the same, as only two Celtics saw more than 35 minutes of action and Boston leaned heavily on its bench for much of the night. James Posey (eight points, five rebounds) and Eddie House (nine points, four rebounds) saw plenty of time, and were on the floor for much of crunch time.
