Blue Line platforms slated for repairs all summer long

BOSTON. Next month, the MBTA will begin platform repairs along the Blue Line, work that will last for several weeks and force some station closures.

Work will start at Beachmont station for two weeks starting June 21 and then move to Wood Island station for four weeks, Revere Beach station for two weeks and finally Wonderland station for two weeks, hopefully ending around Aug. 29. Riders would be bused in between stops during the construction.

T officials meet with riders and residents along the Blue Line at a public meeting last week to talk about the upcoming work, and the T will soon launch a public information campaign targeting the line’s regular riders.

Workers will also be removing tile and granite and completing other preparations prior to the station closures.
