The gangster of Hollywood
FEATURE. Johnny Depp doesn’t know what time it is. Though he technically calls an adorable village in France home and owns an island in the Caribbean, the mercurial actor spends so much time working that his internal clock is all out of whack.

Directorial debut is a shot at the ‘Moon’
INTERVIEW. When directors are limited to a $5 million budget and a 33-day shooting schedule, they usually won’t do anything too arduous — especially for their first films. But director Duncan Jones, 37, tells us that he “wanted to do something with ambition” for his debut flick. So instead, Jones, who is the son of David Bowie, decided to make the sci-fi adventure “Moon,” which opens Friday. The affable Brit explains how.

The Beckhams’ island getaway
GOSSIP. According to the Sun, David Beckham is planning a trip to Necker Island, Richard Branson’s private island hideaway, to celebrate his 10th wedding anniversary with Victoria Beckham. And the best part? It only costs $51,000 a night to have the whole island to themselves.

Bale does light-lifting
MOVIES. Christian Bale is more relaxed than usual, and with good reason. The heavy lifting in promoting his latest film, “Public Enemies,” falls to Johnny Depp. For once, the success or failure of the movie doesn’t rest on Bale’s shoulders. There’s no talk of on-set outbursts or franchise potential. And for that, he’s grateful — and cheerful.

GOSSIP. According to People magazine, Mario Lopez is currently single and looking for a new girl. He tells the weekly that his dream girl would be “from a modest sort of upbringing, because it’s more relatable,” he says. He might want to add: “Also, she shouldn’t really mind when I cheat on her.”

If you remember, Lopez was married to the Doritos girl, Ali Landry, for all of two weeks back in 2004. The blink-and-you-miss-it union was annulled over Lopez’s alleged infidelities. And his most recent relationship with Karina Smirnoff just ended over, again, alleged cheating — this time with singer Meaghan Cooper.

We were going to get all uppity on you about how Lopez can’t keep his A.C. Slater in his pants and wonder out loud how he continues to bag the ladies, but then we got horribly distracted by his pecs.

Oh. So that’s how he does it. We get it now.

Caught. On tape.
After weeks of denials from both camps, there is finally video evidence of Lance Armstrong and Kate Hudson totally sucking face. For those who are interested in that sort of thing (um, us), a TMZ videographer captured them nuzzling and, yes, making out. It’s on TMZ’s Web site for your viewing pleasure. We would recommend Owen Wilson not look at it, though, as it might lead to tears. And the Word gets sad when any member of the Wilson family gets sad (we’re here for you any time, Owen and Luke. Anytime).
