The Senate’s Weak Health Care Bill
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid “got to 60” at 1:08 yesterday morning, clearing a key Republican hurdle and keeping the Senate’s version of a health care reform bill on track for passage before Christmas.

Patrick jumps on jobs bandwagon
As Washington leaders work furiously on national job creation legislation, their Beacon Hill counterparts are now doing the same. Tomorrow, Gov. Deval Patrick is expected to detail plans that include offering a $2,500 tax credit for every new job a small business adds — a move that could wind up creating 20,000 positions.

Will a two-phase plan ever finish?
For years, Somerville and Medford residents have anxiously awaited the Green Line's extension into their transit-deprived neighborhoods. But now it’s a question of how far the MBTA line will actually go.

For a really good time, call ahead
As Marvin Gaye so beautifully sang, “Let’s get it on.” Who are we to disagree, especially with so many smoochable spots to enjoy Valentine’s Day? It doesn’t have to cost the earth, either.

[not too shabby]
“[title of show]” is a silly, little show filled with nudge- nudge, wink-wink moments and enough self-congratulations to make a Hollywood award show look like a spiritually-driven mission of mercy. And though there’s been a dearth of musicals that proclaim, “look at us, we’re a musical making fun of musicals,” there’s something fresh and oddly charming about this one.

What’s next for the Bruins?
After 10 agonizing games filled with near-misses, bad breaks and downright sloppy play, the Bruins ended their epic losing streak with a cathartic win on Sunday. Now that the distraction of that brutal run is over, here’s what to look for as the Bruins go forward:

More sexual charges against Sen. Marzilli

Four separate women claim harassment in sleazy spree through Lowell

Authorities have returned more indictments against troubled state Sen. J. James Marzilli, now alleged to have accosted four women during a sexually charged spree in Lowell last month.

Marzilli, 50, had been arraigned June 4 on charges related to two alleged incidents the day before. Two more women have emerged, giving prosecutors a timeline that allegedly shows Marzilli combing the town’s center for sexual partners that day.

“These are troubling allegations in which Senator Marzilli is alleged to have engaged in a string of highly inappropriate and sexually explicit acts against four women,” Middlesex District Attorney Gerry Leone said.

Authorities said Marzilli’s escapade began around 11 a.m., when he told a woman on Merrimack Street, “The sex is sweet, the sex is sweet, you want it, and you want to go with me.”

Minutes later, Marzilli allegedly told a woman nearby, “your body is perfect, your butt is so perfect” and followed her. The woman eventually turned and told Marzilli to find a hooker, prosecutors said.

At around 1:15 p.m., Marzilli allegedly drove past a woman waiting for a bus on Central Street before parking, approaching her and asking, “Do you have any undergarments under that?”

The fourth alleged victim accused Marzilli of trying to grab her crotch as she sat on a Middle Street bench around 3 p.m.

She fled and a nearby officer approached Marzilli, who took off when backup arrived, running through traffic on foot before being caught in a parking garage.

Marzilli, who since checked into a psychiatric facility and ended a re-election bid, is under suspicion for similar incidents in Brighton and Arlington, Leone said last month. Charges against him in another case were dropped in April.
