Celebrities hacked via their Twitters

New York. The Twitter accounts of a number of celebrities have been hacked, it was reported yesterday. Reports said the Twitter accounts of Britney Spears, Bill O’Reilly and President-elect Barack Obama were among those hit.

O’Reilly’s site was altered to include slurs about his sexuality; Obama’s offered the chance to win $500 in free gas; and Spears’ referred to her sexual organ as “four feet wide with razor sharp teeth.”

Twitter has been the target of a “phishing” e-mail attack by hackers, who gain access to personal sites, normally if the e-mail is responded to. It’s not known if this happened in the case of Spears, O’Reilly or Obama.
