NORTHEAST PHILADELPHIA. Plush, green lawns and paved driveways may be the daytime story on Lott Avenue, but longtime resident Harry Hamburg said there's a dark side to the block after midnight.
"At 4 a.m. [Tuesday] morning a guy was parked in the middle of the intersection," said Hamburg, 73. "I started to call police .... he eventually took off."
The Korean War vet and retired machinist also recalls two men trying to steal a neighbor's bike about six months ago around 3 a.m. before he scared them off
"I'm probably the only guy that sees it because I keep late hours," he said.

2. Living off a thoroughfare like Roosevelt Boulevard can mean minor traffic jams during rush hour, according to Hamburg. "The stop signs are the worst thing they could've done on this street," he said.
3. In the mind of resident John McGinnis, the neighborhood is almost too quiet. The Phillies fan went to Center City that magical night the Phillies won the World Championship last year to partake in the revelry.
