The Peabody Essex Museum upends traditional media with this recycled-objects exhibit. Michelle Stitzlein’s “Sulphur Blue Smeck” butterfly uses “mixed junk,” Ann Smith’s “Camel” is fashioned with used electronic parts and Tom Deininger’s “Filter Rabbit” is sculpted out of used cigarette filters. Take that, pastels!
