Ever fancied a trip to Paris with your pet? But are you put off by the time and the expense?

Carol Gillott says she can provide the next best thing. The Astoria artist has drawn dozens of paintings of beloved pets in typical Paris street scenes — outside cafes, boulangeries, under the Eiffel Tower.

Carol explained that her first subject matter was simply Parisian cafe still lifes. Then Paris shop facades became an obsession.

And then one day a reader of her www.parisbreakfast.com Web site asked her to paint a portrait of her sister’s three dogs on front of a Paris patisserie ... and the rest is history.

“Clients e-mail me several photos and receive a sketch back for approval. Then I do the watercolor usually within a week’s time,” she said.
