NFL. Two more Eagles bit the dust yesterday during the morning practice at Lehigh. The good news? Neither injury seems to be too serious.
Backup quarterback Kevin Kolb sprained his left knee, while the team’s top pass-rusher — starting defensive end Trent Cole — left practice with a shoulder sprain. Both left the practice field on carts.
“Obviously, you don’t want to see any of your guys go down but, it’s the game of football,” quarterback Donovan McNabb said. “I think we have good training staff that will take care of any of those things that may happen, but you just hope everything is alright and get back out there and get ready to go.”
Kolb and Cole are both listed day-to-day and will sit out Thursday night’s preseason opener against New England.
