It’s true, good things do come in small packages

▶ Typically, September brings with it the beginning of gaming’s ‘holiday season’ ▶ The big guns unveiled two great titles on store shelves now

This week, two long- anticipated Nintendo DS titles have appeared to magically whisk away your money:

Mario & Luigi: Bowser’s Inside Story
Console: Nintendo DS
Company: Nintendo
Grade: 4 globes

Admit it. Ever since you were young and saw Bowser whisk away the princess, you wondered what it would be like to be him. After all, the guy owns more castles than John McCain. Finally, after more than 20 years, you can play a game as the infamous King of the Koopas. “Mario & Luigi: Bowser’s Inside Story” features two interwoven storylines. Bowser gets to romp around the mushroom kingdom while Mario and Luigi get to explore, well, the inside of Bowser.

Console: Nintendo DS
Company: Warner Bros Interactive
Grade: 5 globes

This game has the coolest hook since Mick and Keith quickly penned “Satisfaction.” This puzzler tasks you to choose the right objects that allow your avatar to reach a series of hidden stars. The hook? You can choose just about any object. The in-game keyboard allows you to pick anything your twisted brain can come up with. Maybe a pizza slice will help. Or a sabre-toothed tiger.
In addition to playing the main game, you can have tons of fun picking random things and watching them interact with one another.

The March MMMpod features conversation and music from Surfer Blood and The Allman Brothers Band (There's a double-bill you're not too likely to see. However, Gregg Allman does mention Hannah Montana!). We also speak with Vampire Weekend and the Dropkick Murphys.
