What is going on scheduling-wise with “Nip/Tuck” is almost as confusing as the show’s plot points, some of which have been (but were not limited to): A story arc about high-end hookers who steal kidneys; a serial killer with no sex-organs whose accomplice was his sister and possible lover; and more demented love stories than a Hallmark store full of cutesy Valentine’s could make up for.
“It’s really confusing, I know,” says Dylan Walsh, who portrays Dr. Sean McNamara on the show, during a recent press junket for his new film, “The Stepfather.” “We shot the episodes. And instead of airing them in one season, [the producers] very smartly figured out to air just half of those and then carry over a whole other season.”
So, FX, the home of “Nip/Tuck,” as well as the show’s fans, get a whole new round of the exploits of Dr. McNamara and Dr. Christian Troy (this season joined by new doctor Mario Lopez and guest star Rose McGowan) until 2011. But after this batch is done airing, it’ll be the last cut for Troy/McNamara.
“We’re done shooting,” says Walsh. “There’s no more.”
