Massachusetts consumers this winter could receive cash rebates ranging from $50 to $300 when exchanging old washing machines, dishwashers, refrigerators and freezers for new efficient ones, under a plan the Patrick administration has submitted for federal approval.
The plan would use $6.2 million in federal stimulus law funds for an appliance rebate program designed to replace “electricity-guzzling” home appliances with new, efficient models, according to the state Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs.
