A lot of sports fans think October is the best month of the year for sports, but we lean toward November. Pro and college basketball, combined with thriller after thriller in college football tend to trounce the snoozefest that is postseason baseball.
Instead of your run-of-the-mill NBA preview featuring predictions such as the Spurs over the Magic in seven games, LeBron James as MVP and Tyreke Evans as Rookie of the Year, we thought it’d be more helpful to compile the All-NBA WAG (wives and girlfriends) team:
First team
Marko Jaric and Adriana Lima — He’s a journeyman on his third team (Memphis Grizzlies) since 2005; she is arguably the most well-known Victoria’s Secret model on the planet. The leggy Brazilian is certainly more famous than her husband. They’re expecting their first kid this winter, and the kid is almost certain to be very, very tall (he’s 6-foot-6, she’s 5-foot-10).
Tony Parker and Eva Longoria — The San Antonio scoring machine has perhaps the most famous wife in the NBA.
Jason Kidd and Hope Dworaczyk — The Dallas Mavericks’ point guard is dating a little-known model whose fame grew significantly this year when she posed for Playboy. J Kidd is known for his assists, but he apparently plays one heck of a 1-on-1 game.
Dwyane Wade and Gabrielle Union — These two could easily end up a one-year wonder, though. D-Wade is in the midst of a brutal divorce, and Union bounces from one athlete to another quite often.
Carmelo Anthony and LaLa Vazquez — The fifth spot caused us much consternation. We gave the edge to Vazquez for fear she’d come after us like we were a foul-mouthed Mavericks fan if we left her off.
