When bigger isn’t necessarily better

My boyfriend is very well endowed. I know it sounds weird that I’m complaining but it makes sex painful. I saw my doctor and she reassured me nothing is wrong with me. What do I do?

Accept the fact that nothing is wrong with you or your boyfriend — he just happens to have enough penis to go around for two guys. (Guys, take note, this is proof positive that bigger isn’t always better.) Communication and creativity will help you navigate the challenges inherent in having such a large member come between you and your man. Before he personalizes this as rejection, tell him you’re open to making sex mutually satisfying and comfortable.

Give and take

Here’s how to alleviate your discomfort:

Go heavy with the foreplay and refrain from pushing him away. You might be tensing up in anticipation of the deed, so it’s important to make sure you’re aroused prior to the act.

Intercourse doesn’t have to be the focal point of your sex life but when you do, try positions where you have more control over depth and angle. You on top will be more comfortable.
