Green Line incident injures 5

A Green Line train abruptly stopped inside the tunnel near North Station on Saturday night, rocking many passengers on board and leaving five later hospitalized with various injuries, according to the MBTA.

T officials are still investigating why the trolley went into emergency brake mode about 200 feet from the station around 9:40 p.m., according to spokeswoman Lydia Rivera.

One pregnant woman was hospitalized after bumping her head, while three more passengers got off at Government Center asking for medical assistance. Another rider who later transferred to the Orange Line and approached T officials at Forest Hills also needed to be hospitalized.
